Function in Host |
Subunit of the oligosaccharyl transferase (OST) complex thatcatalyzes the initial transfer of a defined glycan (Glc (3) Man (9) GlcNAc (2) in eukaryotes) from the lipid carrier dolichol-pyrophosphate to an asparagine residue within an Asn-X-Ser/Thrconsensus motif in nascent polypeptide chains, the first step inprotein N-glycosylation. N-glycosylation occurscotranslationally and the complex associates with the Sec61 complex atthe channel-forming translocon complex that mediates proteintranslocation across the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). All subunits arerequired for a maximal enzyme activity. Required forthe assembly of both SST3A- and SS3B-containing OST complexes.

Method Description | To detect the role of host protein DDOST in viral infection, DDOST protein knockout Calu-3 Cells were infected with SARS-COV-2 for 7 - 9 Days , and the effects on infection was detected through CRISPR-based genome-wide gene-knockout screen. | ||||||||
Results | It is reported that knockout of DDOST increases SARS-CoV-2 RNA levels compared with control group. |
