Cleaves phosphorylated sphingoid bases (PSBs), such assphingosine-1-phosphate, into fatty aldehydes and phosphoethanolamine. Elevates stress-induced ceramide production and apoptosis. Required for global lipid homeostasis in liver and cholesterolhomeostasis in fibroblasts. Involved in the regulation of pro-inflammatory response and neutrophil trafficking. Modulates neuronalautophagy via phosphoethanolamine production which regulatesaccumulation of aggregate-prone proteins such as APP. Seems to play a role in establishing neuronal contact sites and axonalmaintenance. [1-4]

ResultsIt is reported that knockout of SGPl1 leads to the decreased SARS-CoV-2 RNA levels compared with control group.
