Isoform 2, functions as a transcriptional repressor, modulatingtranscriptional activities of coactivators including isoform 1, NCOA6and CITED1. Regulates centriole biogenesis bysuppressing the formation of aberrant centriolar protein complexes inthe cytoplasm and thus preserving mitotic spindle integrity. Preventsthe formation of the STIL-CENPJ complex (which can induce the formationof aberrant centriolar protein complexes) by interfering with theinteraction of STIL with CENPJ. Plays a role in theregulation of DNA virus-mediated innate immune response by assemblinginto the HDP-RNP complex, a complex that serves as a platform for IRF3phosphorylation and subsequent innate immune response activationthrough the cGAS-STING pathway.
